Kicking off the year with TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® franchisee resolutions

-Written by Erik Sargent

2017 is officially in full swing, and a new year means new resolutions for everyone. It’s important to set goals for yourself and have a vision for what you’d like to achieve in the coming year! Creating this image will provide a clear path for you and your team on what your goals are and how you’re going to get there.

For TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, we regularly set goals along with tactics on how to achieve those, while measuring how we’re progressing throughout the year. With more than 380 locations, we are able to cast a broad net and impact a large number of people from coast to coast, and even internationally.

We asked a few of our franchisees across the country to share their resolutions for the New Year, focusing on what they want to see from their individual franchise in 2017.

Mark Snyir – Sacramento, CA

Motivation for 2017:mark-snyir

  • “To work toward providing employees of our company a comfortable living style, ensuring our customers have a pleasant moving experience, and achieving all goals set by us and Home Office.”

How are you looking to improve?

  • “We want to increase customer service and maintain the customer’s overall positive experience with our company. Seeing the newly hired management staff grow in 2017 will ultimately help with the long-term success of our location. We are opening our fourth location within the Greater Sacramento area, and that will enable us to serve customers who are currently too far away for us to provide services.”

What are you looking forward to as a franchise?

  • “Working together to add trucks and employees, and increasing overall customer satisfaction.”

Kate Windemuller – Winston Salem, NC/Mooresville, NC/Greensboro, NC

Motivation for 2017?kate-windemuller

  • “To continue to Move People Forward, both with customers and employees, and also our communities. We are happy to have been able to promote several employees recently, and hope to continue to develop their skill sets and advance others as well. The better the year we have in 2017, the more we can give back to the communities.

What are you looking forward to for 2017?

  • “I look forward to seeing the results of our hard work as we focus on the three things I mentioned above.”

Ryan Knowles – Pasco, FL/Tampa, FL/Ocala, FL/Pearland, TX

What is your motivation for the 2017 year?0026_knowles_ryan

  • “My main motivation for 2017 is to put together my best roster of movers and drivers by February for early March so that our staffing is 100 percent adequate by the time summer approaches. You can call me the Joe Maddon of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® in 2017.”

What are your business goals?

  • “I’m to have all four of our franchises be in the top 10 for AIE (internal list of system’s best franchises ranked by points system). I also want to earn a 98.7 percent reply card referral rate.”

How are you looking to improve as a franchise in the New Year?

  • “Staffing, staffing, staffing. We want to be prepared so that we can run at 100 percent maximization.”

What are you looking forward to as a franchise?

These are just four of the many outstanding people we have running TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® franchises across the country, and if everyone has the determination and drive they have going into this year, 2017 will be another major success for the company.

What to Consider When Pursuing Franchising Opportunities

-Written by Erik Sargent

Ever had an interest in owning a business? Want a chance at lucrative growth opportunities while getting a chance to make an impact on peoples’ lives? Look no further than franchising, an opportunity that gives you the platform to do all of that and more.

According to the International Franchise Association, franchising businesses will grow at a rate that exceeds non-franchise businesses for the sixth straight year. Franchising is not a fad, and the success has been proven over and over again with various companies, and with TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®.

Here are some ideas to consider before joining a franchise system.

Is the business sustainable?

The world is continuously changing, whether it’s technology, or in business. It’s important to reflect on yourself and if you have what it takes to keep up with the constantly changing market, trends, and technological involvements associated with running a franchise in this day and age.

Do you have the right team in place?

You might have the mindset and the ideology to run a business, but do the people you’re associating with carry that same mentality? Surrounding yourself with the right team is important, and it’s important to hire a group of people who are innovative and willing to work toward growth and diversified revenue streams.

Finding trends and opportunities

It’s important to assess the trends involved with the business you’re considering getting into. Taking the time to consult with people who have been successful in the field is important, and the ideas and information they can share with you can be crucial to your success moving forward.

Another area to focus on is identifying potential opportunities that a franchising system can bring to you. Make sure your business model supports your long-term ideas and plans, and make sure you know the answers to all of the questions you might have when getting into franchising.

Finding the right fit

Getting into a franchising business opportunity can seem like the right move, but if it’s not the right personal fit for you, it’s going to fail. Make sure you’re placing yourself in an environment where you can deal with the changes, react accordingly, and bounce back from adversity when things get rough.

Bringing passion to the job

Starting a franchise needs to fire you up every day – if you aren’t able to bring the energy necessary to run the business every day, it might not be for you. There’s a lot of time and energy put into running a business, and if you can’t find the passion in you to run it right, it will be tough to find happiness.

Looking To The Future with TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® 2017 Goals

-Written by Erik Sargent

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK prepares for busiest move weekend!

Moving People Forward will always be the number one priority for us at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, but focusing on how to move the company forward is an important process that keeps us growing, and helps us move closer to our goals.

“As we start a new year, we have grown the reach and success of TWO MEN AND A jeff-wesleyTRUCK®,” said CEO Jeff Wesley. “With growth more than 16 percent on average, per year, over the last seven years, we feel well positioned for the future, and appreciate the customer support for our brand and the opportunities ahead.”

With a team exceeding 10,000 this summer that is continuously growing, new and innovative ideas being implemented daily, and a brand reputation that spreads internationally, it’s important to reflect on the success of the past, and focus on future goals for the company. These goals help keep everything on the right path, and allow us to enjoy even greater levels of success moving forward.

“We continue to invest in talent in areas, customer service and innovation to position ourselves with additional services people are looking to us for,” Wesley said. “We are so excited about full-scale entry into interstate moves with Value Flex, and the opportunities it provides our new customers to experience the high value services of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®.”

Developing our franchise system

With more than 380 locations nationally and internationally, our company reach extends a great length, and 2017 is an opportunity to add more franchises and expand across the globe.

For our franchise development team, their 2017 expansion goals include:

-Signing 25 new franchises and five mini markets

-Expanding into the state of Montana, which increases our reach to 42 U.S. states as well as additional expansion into Wyoming, West Virginia, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

“We continue to work and expand our footprint with qualified partners that are focused on customer service, while bringing on additional areas in order to serve even more customers,” said Compliance Director Pamela Batten. “With the additional services of Value Flex and Portable Storage, more coverage of the U.S. as a brand will allow us to go to the next level.”

Value Flex

Although TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® has always offered an expedited, long-distance moving service, the missing piece and new addition for 2017 will be our value and flexibility service – officially called Value Flex – which offers a reduced price on long-distance moves for customers with a little more flexibility on their move dates.

Value Flex will utilize the service of dedicated long-haul carriers to transport containers to another TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® location near the customer’s final destination. From there, that local team will make the delivery to the new location.

“As the Value Flex service continues to grow across the country, it will truly change the perception of the brand when it comes to long-distance moving,” said Moving Services Director Lindsey Schaibly. “We will still offer our expedited services for customers who want that service, but now we will also have the ability to help customers who cannot select the expedited service and are flexible in their move dates.”

Using a TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® location on both ends of the move makes for an excellent customer experience, and the team behind Value Flex is very pleased with the service so far.

“We look forward to automating the estimating and scheduling process in 2017 to continue improving the program,” said Schaibly.

Customer Relationship Center

The development and growth of the Customer Relationship Center at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® has been a valuable service to the brand, and continued additions and goals will improve the overall customer experience in 2017.

The Customer Relationship Center is an extension of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®’s sales team, allowing us to ensure all customers are responded to quickly, and after normal business hours.

For the Customer Relationship Center, a few main points of focus in 2017 include:

-Implementing various channels of communication to reach customers in the manner they would like, and at the time they would like, by incorporating virtual chat and online estimating

-Improving and standardizing sales processes to allow customers to receive the same level of sales support, regardless of where they call from

“We are very excited about the new sales initiatives coming in 2017 from both CRC and the system,” said Director of Sales Ashley Skaggs. “Over the next year, we will partner on various areas to help the customers, and to make sure they choose TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®. Whether it is from sales support, sales training, CRC, or new technology, sales will be a large focus for 2017.”
