TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® continues trend of charitable work with donation to the American Cancer Society

Giving back to the community is the platform on which TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® has been built, and when Founder Mary Ellen Sheets formed the moving company back in the ‘80s, she made sure that charitable work would remain a top priority for the foreseeable future. In fact, the first $1,000 profit she earned, she split and donated to 10 different Lansing, Mich., area charities!

The TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® brand has continued to live up to this standard set by Mary Ellen, and has found itself immersed in endless charities and community service, focused on making an impact in the communities of each individual franchise across the country.

One of the top charities in the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® donation circle is the American Cancer Society. The ACS aims to free the world of cancer, and this goal is pursued by raising money in a wide variety of ways for funding, conducting research, and spreading the word while raising awareness about cancer.

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is a customer service company that offers moving and packing services for customers,” said TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® CEO Jeff Wesley. “Moving is stressful and people love us for taking that burden off their shoulders, and with Mary Ellen setting the stage and supporting local charities 30 years ago, the impact our brand has had on local communities and charities is phenomenal.”

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® has worked with the American Cancer Society for more than 27 years, and 10 cents of each move is donated to the organization. Total donations given have eclipsed more than $570,000, and this year’s donation total was $52,229, which was recognized at a check presentation ceremony earlier this week.

“We’re grateful that TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® sees the value of investing in the American Cancer Society,” said Felicia McMullen, senior marketing manager at the American Cancer Society of Michigan. “The support that TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® has given us over the years has significantly impacted our ability to be able to help people in the local community, and people nationwide.”

Along with the outstanding donations that have been raised working with the American Cancer Society, the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® brand has made sure to put work into a wide variety of charities to show support for all of our local communities.

Overall as a system, we donated 23,472 moving and truck hours, in addition to other local contributions made, totaling more than $3 million in charitable donations to organizations and events, which helped provide necessary moving help, transportation of items for organizations, and man power.

The corporate office also made $133,111 in contributions to local charities over the past year, through various initiatives like our charity jeans days that happen twice a month. The total contributions from Home Office to the American Cancer society over years has totaled $574,309. Total contributions by Home Office and the system to various charities are close to $30 million dollars over the last 30 years.

“This brand speaks and walks to a higher purpose, and our system is blessed to work with the American Cancer Society, and all of the other charities and communities we impact,” Wesley said. “I am so proud of our 370 plus locations who Move People Forward daily, and all of the success and hard work they do and the impact it has on others.”
