Positive culture continues to shape the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® brand

Moving retirees with comfort and ease

One of the biggest keys to success for any company is having a positive culture, and here at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, it’s a positive culture that’s shaped the brand into what it is today while guiding it down right path for more than 30 years.

From establishing a list of core values we follow daily, to hiring the best team members who can live by these values, there is a lot that goes into building a culture of success. Giving back to the community, providing excellent customer service, and treating our family of team members well are just some of the great pieces that make up the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® culture.

jeff-wesley“A big part of the success at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is our core values and our culture,” said TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® CEO Jeff Wesley. “Our core values drive our culture, and they work together to create and maintain an environment that allows our valued team members to grow and prosper with our success. We take great pride in our culture, and invest time and effort in creating a rewarding, fun, and giving environment for our team and the communities we serve.”

A positive work environment

We often talk about how much effort we put into moving customers forward and making an impact with a community, but a major part of the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® brand is advancing the careers of our team members, too.

Top to bottom across the company ladder, the opportunity for moving up in your career is forever present. We have jobs that span wide across the career field at our Home Office, and the more than 350 locations across the United States.

Giving back to the community

When TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Founder Mary Ellen Sheets started the company over 30 years ago, she made it clear there would be a major emphasis on giving back to the community in any way possible. After receiving her first $1,000 in profit, she divvied up the money and donated $100 to 10 different local charities.

Working with charities has become a staple of the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® system, and we continuously work with both national and local charities to support in any way we can.

We have started five of our own charity programs, with the top campaign being our Movers for Moms® campaign that we run each spring. We also run four important fall campaigns that include Movers for Mutts, Movers for Military, Movers for Meals, and Truckload of Warmth. We also work with many national established charity programs like the American Cancer Society, where we donate 10 cents of every move to their cause.

Following the core values

The list of core values at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® are guidelines for how we will carry ourselves personally and professionally. When customers decide to use TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® or people interact with us within our communities, we want these Core Values to be on full display, proving we truly live by the mottos we have set.

  • Integrity: To always conduct oneself with honesty and fairness.
  • Give back to the community
  • THE GRANDMA RULE®To treat everyone the way you would want your Grandma to be treated.
  • Care: To have compassion for family, customers, co-workers and community.
  • Be your best and have fun: To be the best professionally and personally while enjoying life and having fun.
  • Inclusion: To welcome people from all backgrounds in the workplace and the community.

Recognizing team members

It’s important to acknowledge and recognize outstanding work efforts across the system by team members, and each year, we do just that through a variety of recognitions and awards.

Our Move Hero awards are handed out to those who take it a step further when it comes to exemplifying what it means to be the “Movers Who Care®”, and these awards are only handed out to the best of the best. This year at the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Annual Meeting in Colorado Springs, we presented both Patrick Worthy of Raleigh, N.C., and Stephan Eveland of Fort Myers, Fla., with the prestigious Move Hero awards.

  1. Nephew started today as an employee of TMAAT in Kokomo Indiana. After a 10 hour day of moving/lifting with no breaks or lunch he was told (and 3 other guys) they are not paid for training and it includes Saturday. That’s five ten hour days with no pay. 🖕🏼Two men and a truck. Dirty!

    • Hi Bailey,

We’re very sorry to hear this. As the Movers Who Care, we value our employees and pride ourselves on hiring the best. As each franchise is individually owned and operated, each location does have their own policies and onboarding procedures. We encourage your nephew to speak with his manager about any concerns he may have. Our corporate employee relations team would also be happy to speak with him further. The team may be reached at his convenience at 517-325-0775.
