TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® continues to forge ahead as a moving company, and early in 2018, we entered a new U.S. state – Wyoming.

Franchisees Rob Graham and Justin Woods officially opened their Cheyenne location mid-February, and completed their first move on February 22. Wyoming is the 43rd state the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK brand currently operates in, and allows us to extend our moving services to even more people across the U.S.

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK’s franchise development team was interested in expanding into the state of Wyoming, and thanks a to a connection at the Home Office location in Lansing, Mich., Graham was able to find out about the potentially franchising opportunity.

“My uncle works at Home Office,” Graham said. “When he found out TWO MEN AND A TRUCK was looking for a franchisee in the Cheyenne area, he gave my family a call.”

From then on, it was a smooth transition as Graham and Woods began their journey to becoming TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchisees.

Graham had an extensive real estate background, and he felt pairing this with a brand name like TWO MEN AND A TRUCK was a no-brainer decision.

“Initially, I was interested in the opportunity with TWO MEN AND A TRUCK because of brand recognition,” Graham said. “I knew having a recognizable brand would help separate us from the local competition here. Also, working in the real estate community, I saw there was a need for a high- quality, customer service-oriented moving company like TWO MEN AND A TRUCK.”

Once Graham and Woods began the process of opening their franchise, it was a full-slate of learning and becoming familiar with the company, the core values, and the brand standards. The two attended “Discovery Day” at the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Home Office location, and learned about how they could assimilate the brand values with the residents of Wyoming, in addition to attaining success in a new state.

“Overall, the process of starting up a franchise went smoothly,” Graham said. “However, without the help of our Home Office field trainers, it would have felt like an impossible task. They walked us through the startup process, helping us accomplish weekly goals on the way to opening our doors.”

The next step in the process of opening their doors was putting together a staff, and Graham and Woods needed people who fit the mold of the company and what it stands for.

“We hired candidates with good attitudes,” Graham said. “We didn’t worry about them having moving experience, because we knew we could train them to do things the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK way.”

Graham credits Woods – who has taken on both a franchisee and general manager role – as being the biggest factor in getting staff into place. Graham credited him with building a positive culture at their new location, and providing a fun and safe working environment.

With just over a month completed as an operating franchise, there’s still a lot of work to be done for the Cheyenne location and their team. From establishing themselves in the Cheyenne community to making sure the team is properly trained on moving customers, it’s an everyday process of getting better, but one that Graham can’t wait to tackle.

“Everyone at Home Office and across the franchise system has been so eager to help us,” Graham said. “Every time we encounter a problem or have a question, someone is willing to jump on a call and get us an answer and provide us with training so we’re prepared the next time it comes up. TWO MEN AND A TRUCK has really set us up for success, and that has what impressed me most about the company.”
