The busy moving season is coming to a close as we enter the fall months at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, but it was business as usual this week in Lansing, Mich., as franchisees and managers from the network met for the Fall Franchise Conference and Expo.
Held at the Lansing Center in downtown Lansing, franchisees and their team members from all over North America met with Home Office support teams to learn the latest company news and best practices, hear directly from the executive team on the direction of the brand, and meet with vendors in a fun and interactive setting.
“Our Fall Franchise Conference and Expo is one of the few times our franchisees and managers have the chance to meet and connect with vendors face-to-face,” said Chris Bortnichak, training and development team lead at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Home Office. “Interacting with partners you work with on a regular basis allows you to not only strengthen relationships, but allows people to learn about what they offer.”
This annual fall event provides an environment for networking and discussion among some of the most successful franchisees and managers in the company, as they are able share what is – and what isn’t – working at their franchise locations.
The conference this year was spread over two days, with the event kicking off Tuesday morning as the executive team members spoke with the crowd during a general session. After that, attendees broke out into sessions and panels of their choosing that covered everything happening with the brand, from new sales opportunities and recruiting and retention techniques to our long-distance moving service, Value Flex®.
Tuesday night, attendees were invited to a vendor marketplace gathering and mixer event, where they were able to network with preferred vendors about the latest and greatest with their technology, and also meet with members from Home Office, and other franchisees.
“I think it’s great to get out of your day-to-day routine at your franchise and come here and get the perspectives of other people,” said Nick Roerig, multi-unit franchisee with locations in Georgia, Tennessee, and Texas. “Just being able to meet with other people who might be smarter than you at certain areas and who have solved problems you may be going through is extremely valuable.”
Growth is always the goal for the members of our TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchise locations, and with events like Fall Franchise Conference and Expo, attendees are able to take back tips and tricks that help them achieve these goals and set their locations up for future success as well.
“Life is a team sport, so when you’re able to come to an arena like this and have an opportunity to learn from completely different metro areas than yours and find out what’s happening for them, you find out the skeleton is the same, but how people dress the skeleton is where the magic is,” said Clayton Hutson, senior manager for a group of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchises located in Ohio and Kentucky. “A small tweak here and a small tweak there can make all of the difference.”
Attendees wrapped up the Fall Expo on Wednesday with more educational sessions relevant to TWO MEN AND A TRUCK topics, and closed out the day with a final general session message from the executive team before they headed back to their respective locations.
It is another example of how TWO MEN AND A TRUCK and its Home Office team work to support the franchises year-round, helping to provide them with new ideas and solutions as they work to grow their moving operations. Attendees were able to take in an abundance of new information, and were eager to get back and implement what they’ve learned.
“I love the event, I love Fall Expo,” Roerig said. “I feel like it’s denser content than what you get when you go to Annual Meeting, and you get to meet a lot of other multi-unit franchisees and multi-unit managers. I’ve got a notepad full of notes I’m excited to take back with me when I leave.”
