In order to best serve our customers and provide world-class customer service, it’s crucial each of our franchise locations have solid teams in place to meet the needs of our customers and exceed their expectations.
This is something we don’t take lightly and each spring, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchisees embark on the annual hiring campaign known as Career Move Month.
“Through Career Move Month, we organize several programs to showcase our TWO MEN AND A TRUCK core values, culture, and what it’s like to work here,” said Johanna Weitzel, recruiting and retention manager at the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Home Office. “Our franchises get involved at a local level, and are usually thrilled to build upon the national programs we put in place and extend their efforts through the rest of the year so they can build out their great teams.”
The goal of the campaign is to spread awareness of the career opportunities available within TWO MEN AND A TRUCK. This isn’t limited to movers and drivers either, as our franchises are looking to hire a range of positions, from mover up through management.
Franchisees throughout the company know how vital a strong staff is to their long-term success, and that motivates them each spring season to actively look for additional team members to bring on board.
“Career Move Month is a unique program to help us keep a focus on hiring when there are so many other aspects of the business to focus on,” said Pete Ruffing, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchisee with locations in Jacksonville and St. Augustine, FL. “It creates a focus for us all at a time when we need to be as ready as possible before the busy season hits.”
While the campaign officially starts in March, for many franchisees, it’s the culmination of continuous efforts in recruiting and retention year round that will keep their all-star teams in place and motivated each and every day.
“We always feel like Career Move Month is the starting line of the race,” said Brian Stern, multi-unit franchisee with locations in Maine, Massachusetts, and New Jersey. “We hire constantly, 12 months out of the year, to account for growth and expansion, but we also never want to miss out on a top candidate. Once Career Move Month hits, we know it’s go-time, and the fun is just starting.”
When looking at candidates and traits they exhibit, we look for those focused on providing excellent customer service and who are willing to stand behind our core values daily.
“The right candidates usually have high levels of energy and competency to accompany a heavy customer service mindset,” Stern said.
