Mini-market territories provide opportunity for TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® business ownership within smaller markets

There’s quite a bit that goes into business ownership, and opening a franchise with a trusted brand is one way people can get into business ownership themselves. We know that sometimes our traditional franchise model is not the right fit for some perspective franchisees, which is why we developed our mini-market franchise model which debuted in 2017.

With the mini-market model, we’re able to help new franchisees enter territories with a smaller population reach, while also providing them with the flexibility to work with less staffing and trucks in an area where there is still a demand for moving services.

“Mini-markets run very similar to our tradition markets, but at a smaller scale. We now have the technology and support mechanisms in place to help create a profitable business in a market that requires a smaller local support staff,” said Jon Nobis, CEO of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK. “The TWO MEN AND A TRUCK brand has grown significantly throughout the United States, giving customers a recognizable yet local name to do business with no matter where they move.”

A TWO MEN AND A TRUCK mini-market franchise will receive the support of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK’s Customer Relationship team to help schedule and book moves, and will also receive the traditional support a franchise would receive from TWO MEN AND A TRUCK’s Home Office support teams.

Mini-market requirements include:

-A minimum of $80,000 in liquid assets and a $160,000 in net worth. Initial investment ranges are anywhere from $100,000 to $192,000.

-Mini-markets are required to operate with one moving truck at the date of their opening, which is less than the 2-3 truck minimum required of a traditional franchise.

-Mini-markets require a $30,000 franchise fee that covers populations ranging from 100,000 to 225,000 people.

The very first TWO MEN AND A TRUCK mini-market franchises opened in the state of Montana in 2017 in Missoula and Kalispell, and we’ve since opened three more in Cheyenne, Wyo., Santa Fe, N.M., and McAllen, Texas – and we’re looking to add even more across the country.

“I would and have recommended franchising with TWO MEN AND A TRUCK,” said Ben Heslop, franchisee at the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Kalispell, Mont., location. “At first the royalties look like a lot, but when you see what you are getting back, that number proves to be worth every single penny.”
