TWO MEN AND A TRUCK mini-market franchise opportunities offer business ownership in untapped markets

Franchising is a great alternative to business ownership versus starting your own business from scratch, as it provides the opportunity to run your own operation while investing your money into a proven brand with successful best practices laid out already.

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK has assisted entrepreneurs and investors with their franchising goals for more than 30 years. Our diverse franchisee network spans across 45 states and four different countries, and we’ve received numerous accolades for our work in the franchising world.

Sometimes, however, it’s not feasible for someone to invest in a full franchise market for a variety of factors. That’s why in 2017, we introduced our alternative to this: mini-markets.

Our mini-market model allows new franchisees to invest in territories with smaller populations, providing them with the much-needed moving services that our company has to offer but with the flexibility to work with less staffing, moving equipment, and trucks.

“Mini-markets run very similar to our tradition markets, but on a smaller scale. We now have the technology and support mechanisms in place to help create a profitable business in a market that requires a smaller local support staff,” said Jon Nobis, CEO of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK. “The TWO MEN AND A TRUCK brand has grown significantly throughout the United States, giving customers a recognizable yet local name to do business with no matter where they move.”

Even though mini-markets are smaller than our traditional franchises, they still receive the same dedicated support from our Home Office teams.

Mini-market requirements for opening include:

-A minimum of $80,000 in liquid assets and a $160,000 in net worth. Initial investment ranges are anywhere from $100,000 to $192,000.

-Mini-markets are required to operate with one moving truck at the date of their opening, which is less than the 2-3 truck minimum required of a traditional franchise.

-Mini-markets require a $30,000 franchise fee that covers populations ranging from 100,000 to 225,000 people.

-Mini-market franchises now also offer junk removal services to customers to help diversify revenue options.

“Operating a mini-market franchise is more owner-operator friendly. You don’t need as much staff with a smaller territory, and there are the same opportunities to diversify revenue,” said TWO MEN AND A TRUCK’s compliance director Pam Batten in a recent interview with 1851Magazine. “You can still add junk and storage in the long term or short term – all of these opportunities are open to everyone. The potential to build that in markets with the other revenue diversification is there as well.”

We opened our first mini-market locations in 2017 in the state of Montana, and have worked to add more since then. We are currently exploring new territories for opening in the states of Georgia, Kentucky, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Wyoming, and West Virginia.
