Business ownership is something that is a big dream for many people, but the hurdles, unknowns, and startup costs of chasing this dream can often shy them away.
One alternative to starting your own business venture is joining a franchising brand like TWO MEN AND A TRUCK, where you still get all of the benefits of business ownership, but in a model that has been established for years and built for success. Even in franchising, a traditional model might not be a great fit for everyone and this is where our mini-markets come in.
COVID-19 has affected all of us in one way or another and it has especially changed the way the world of business operates.
Through it all, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® has continued to push forward after the government deemed moving an essential business, and our franchisees have worked hard to make sure their teams are not just ready to move, they’re ready to move safely.
Veteran’s Day was earlier this week and each year, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK likes to take the time to honor and recognize the incredible sacrifices made by the brave men and women in our U.S. military.
Our brand feels so strongly about this that we’ve developed our own branded campaign, Movers for Military, so our franchise locations could help out veterans in need right in their communities by collecting essential care items to be donated to veteran’s shelters. Our commitment to veterans doesn’t stop there.
Multi-unit Franchisee Curtis Newman’s main goals day-to-day are trying to grow his multiple TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® locations by providing the best customer service possible for his customers.
It’s the goal for all of our franchisees, but Newman was on the other end of this years ago – and it paved the way for where he is now. Newman, originally from Iowa, was familiar with TWO MEN AND A TRUCK and had seen the trucks around.
The TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® franchising model was created and refined so our franchisees are able to achieve sustained success and make a difference in the lives of their teams and community.
For our current and future franchisees, this is a never-ending chase that has us continually researching new ways to improve our business, drive success to all of our franchise locations, and encourage new franchisees to join our team. It’s the outstanding franchisees across our system that truly make our franchising model special and striving to improve.

Sometimes, the advice and persuasion of your friends can be enough to push you in the direction of taking on a new challenge or risk in life.
Chris Raiber had always liked the idea of owning his own business, but was having a successful career in his own right, and wasn’t quite sure how or when he would ever have the opportunity to chase the dream of business ownership. However, that quickly changed with hearing how successful his friends were as TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® franchisees.
A franchising brand is only as good as the people who are living and breathing it each and every day, and at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, we have a large network of hardworking, dedicated franchisees who continue to grow our brand.
This is reflected in both our 96 percent system-wide customer referral rating as a brand and in our continued franchise expansion that now has us operating in 44 states across America, plus internationally in Canada, Ireland, and the United Kingdom. None of this is possible without the franchisees who keep us going, and we’re thankful for them each and every day.
With so many franchisees in our TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchisee network, there are many stories on how their journey got started and how they heard about the brand.
They can range from someone looking for new business opportunities to families joining forces to open their own franchise, but each brings its own unique story to our proud history. For Franchisee Jim Frederickson, his story would fall in the category of “simple”.
When Founder Mary Ellen Sheets began building the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® brand, a positive culture focused around giving back to the community, living by a set of core values, and a mindset of promoting our own people, which helped establish TWO MEN AND A TRUCK not only as a leader in the moving industry, but an organization in which people wanted to be involved..
Franchisees from all backgrounds have come to find a home here, opening their own moving operations and finding success along the years. Continue reading
Investing your money into a business should come with the peace of mind in knowing that what you’re buying into will become a successful endeavor.
Although TWO MEN AND A TRUCK started as local home movers, we realized along the way there’s more to helping our franchisees see a return on their investment – and more to serving our customers, too. This is why as the years have gone on, we’ve worked hard to add additional services to our brand so there are multiple revenue streams for franchisees, while providing the services we know our customers want.
