Honoring our Veterans

Written by Jessy Herman

According to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, an estimated 39,471 veterans are homeless on any given night. In addition, 1.4 million of our veterans are considered at risk of homelessness due to a variety of factors such as poverty, overcrowding housing, and a lack of support networks.

To hear those who have sacrificed so much fighting for our country’s freedom are struggling with these hardships, it begs the question how can we help? It is our belief the brave service men and women who have selflessly served us should never be without basic needs including shelter, food, and most importantly a support system.

As the Movers Who Care®, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® developed the Movers for Military program in an effort to aid veterans in need across the country. Across the country, locations team up with local businesses and schools to collect essential care items and deliver them to veterans living in shelters during Veterans Day.

Our system is very fortunate to have several franchisees with a military background. These men and women are proven leaders who align with our core values and bring an unmatched work ethic.

One of these Franchisees being Joey Hale who was awarded Franchisee of the Year by the International Franchise Association in 2015, a top honor among franchisees throughout the country.

“Prior to joining TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, I served as an intelligence officer for the United States Air Force,” said Hale. “I enlisted while in college. My dad flew in the Air Force, and I had tunnel vision to follow in his footsteps.”

Veterans Day

We are proud to have received several recognitions celebrating our commitment to actively recruiting and supporting veterans. This year we have been ranked 10th on the Military Times’ 2017 Best for Vets Franchise Opportunities, jumping 10 spots on the list from our 2016 ranking.

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® has also earned a place on the Franchise Business Review Top Franchises for Veterans list in 2012, 2014, 2015, and 2016.

Despite the many efforts to assist veterans across the country, we know there is still a great deal of work to be done to provide hope for our country’s heroes. In an effort to raise awareness of veterans in need and honor  active military and veterans this Veterans Day we are changing our website colors to reflect the colors of the land of the free and home of the brave.

Franchise Business Review survey results show high TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® franchisee satisfaction

Written by Hannah Conlin

Franchise Business Review

Franchise Business Review (FBR) is the most respected source of independent franchise information, highlighting today’s top franchise opportunities — based exclusively on the ratings and reviews from thousands of franchise owners. As 2015 came to a close, we asked our franchisees to complete the survey, which provides an opportunity to provide honest feedback about the past year and share their opinions and ideas.

As it has been illustrated many times, the survey results show TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® as a dominant force against other franchise brands in the industry. FBR denotes that an average franchise system equivalent to the size of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® would obtain a 60 to 65 percent ranking in the 37 different categories franchisees were asked to rate. These categories included communication, innovation, effective technology, continued support, whether the franchisee would do it all over again, and more.

Based on this year’s survey results, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® scored well above the 60 to 65 percentile in 36 of the 37 categories. The results from those who responded show 88 percent of franchisees enjoy being involved in the system, and nearly 90 percent would join the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® family again.

Although TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® continues to excel above its competitors within the franchising industry, the results did note areas for continued improvement.

“We are so proud of our overall results and being a leading franchise system. Our scores compared to the franchise industry benchmark are very strong,” said TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® President Randy Shacka. “We grew in key areas and overall progress is being made, but there is always room for improvement. We are always learning and developing our brand as we Move People Forward”

With more than 10 consecutive years on the FBR’s top franchise list, we look forward to receiving the survey results each year to continue growing and implementing new ways to improve our system.

Franchise Business Review results show TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is exceeding standards

The Franchise Business Review survey continues to show success for TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® and brings new ideas to improve the system this year. Franchise Business Review is the most respected source of independent franchise information, highlighting today’s top franchise opportunities — based exclusively on the ratings and reviews from thousands of franchise owners. At the end of 2014, we asked our franchisees to complete the survey, which gave them an opportunity to be honest about the past year and share their perceptions of the company and franchisor.

The FBR survey results illustrate the success of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® and provides a focal point for us to see how we place among other franchise brands. Franchisees were asked for their feedback in 43 subcategories within Leadership, Training and Support, Franchise SystemTruck logo, Core Values, Franchise Community, Self-Evaluation, Financial Opportunity, and General Satisfaction. Of the 43 categories, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® exceeded industry averages in 38 of them.

“I’m grateful that we continue to evaluate the partnership between Home Office and our franchisees and that our system continues to perform at such high standards,” said Jeff Wesley, CFO of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®. “On the other side, I love the input and seeing how we can continue to improve the results and the relationship between us and the system.”

When looking at the FBR results, Wesley said he’s excited about seeing the company’s records over the years.

“The system should be very proud of the hard work and effort that has resulted in such record success,” he said. “I’m also excited about what can happen if we continue the partnership with our franchisees at a high level. We are doing so well and so aligned when you compare us to other systems.  We have tremendous opportunities ahead for our system as we look to accomplish our vision”

Jeff Knowles, a franchisee in Tampa, Fla., is pleased with the Franchise Business Review results.

“We’re part of a class-act system and the FBR survey really shows that off. Hopefully these results will bring in excellent future franchisees who will help grow our brand,” he said. “The FBR survey is important because it gives a true and realistic vision of what to expect out of a franchise system and how we rank compared to others. I complete the survey every year and try to be as thorough and constructive as possible. IFBR cover randy believe it gives our franchisor a real picture of the positives and negatives from the franchisee’s point of view.”

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® President Randy Shacka said the overall results are very positive for the system. He believes that although there were many positive aspects that came out of the survey, it’s imperative to focus on the 2015 improvements that can be taken from the feedback.

“In addition to the positive feedback we receive and no matter how successful we become, there will always be room for improvement,” he said.

After 10 consecutive years on the FBR’s top franchise list, we have been entered in the Franchise Business Review Hall of Fame. It’s such a blessing to be included in the Hall of Fame while receiving brand recognition! We are looking forward to continue placing among the best franchises in the nation for years to come.

As time goes on, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® will continue to use the FBR results each year to continue growing and making improvements to the system.
