Franchising opportunities available for veterans!

It’s an exciting time here at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®. We’ve seen consistent growth dating back to December 2009 — which translates to 67 straight months of growth and 51 consecutive months of record growth. Our system is well on its way to awarding 30 new locations by the end of the year, and we’re creeping closer and closer to our 2015 goals, while keeping our 96% customer referral rate.

So what’s next for team TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®? Veterans!

It has always been a mission of ours to add hardworking, dedicated, and moral individuals to our franchise teams, whether they are movers, managers, or franchisees. However, a larger focus recently has been to showcase TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® franchising opportunities for our country’s veterans.

JeffW2“We are proud of our veterans and want to give back to these proven leaders by offering them this unique opportunity,” said TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® CFO Jeff Wesley. “Veterans in our system are some of our largest, most successful multi-unit owners. As we look at our growth plans, we are looking for proven partners and want vets to continue to be a significant part of our future.”

Recently, Wesley, along with Multi-Unit Franchisees Joey Hale and David Richardson participated as guest speakers in a program called Vet to CEO. This program is a seven-week, cohort-based program in which qualified veterans and active duty military are exploring franchise ownership as a career path. Wesley, Hale (who is also a veteran), and Richardson presented on the financial aspects of owning a business.

“Being part of the military and the experience they have gained in establishing and running systematically is perfect for franchising,” said Wesley.

Boise, Idaho Franchisee Terry Bruns, who served in the United States Air Force for four years, looked at hundreds of franchising opportunities prior to finding a fit with TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®. He said the more companies he looked into, the less interested he was.

Terry Bruns“It was to the point I thought I was suffering from what in real estate we called the ‘paralysis of analysis.’ You are so afraid, you find something wrong with everything and it is your way of not doing anything. It turns out that was not the case, I was just really picky in what I wanted. From the moment I discovered TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, I became more and more interested the more I looked. From the time I made my initial contact, through signing the papers, it was much faster than I expected because I grew to like the system so much. The core values and high standards were a very big part and as I did my due diligence and talked to numerous franchisees, I just knew it was a system I wanted to be part of.”

With just over three years since Bruns opened his TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® doors in Boise, he’s seen tremendous success, and is currently at 25% growth year-over-year. He credits his military experience and the alignment of his and the company’s values for his success and ease of transition with the opportunity.

“I could see that to do well, it took a combination of logistics and sales. My time in the Air Force really helped me build a skillset in logistics and that continued with a lot of work I did after the Air Force,” he said. “I also worked in sales previously, including selling homes I bought and rehabbed. I really liked the skillsets it would require of me and thought it would be a great fit. The biggest reason though is the system and core values. I wanted to be part of a system that was striving for greatness and I really felt that with TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®.”
